I’ve built and grown online businesses for a quarter of a century, and for most of that time I ran them the same way most entrepreneurs do — by sheer force. Long hours, constant switching, saying yes to everything. It worked, until it didn’t.
The systems that actually held up long-term were boring: a single place where every task lives, a weekly review that takes fifteen minutes, and a hard rule that new ideas go into a list, not into today’s schedule. None of this stops the ideas — I still have plenty — it just stops them from hijacking the day.
